Chord Melody

· Harmonize the C major scale, using the root of each chord, with each chord set.
     I: M7, ii: m7, iii: m7, IV: M7, V: 7, vi: m7, vii: dim7.
Mix it up, by playing the circle of fifths: I, V, ii, vi, iii, vii, IV, I

· Raise a favorite melody up an octave and play it on strings one and two only.
Then apply the right chord to whatever melody notes you want to hear harmonized.

Always make the melody note the highest pitch of the harmonizing chord (for this exercise).
          · For example, if the melody note is c, and the accompanying chord listed above is F, play the FM7 chord that has c (its fifth) as the highest note.
          · Or, if the melody note you want to harmonize is b flat, and the accompanying chord is C, then play the C7 chord that has b flat (the seventh of C) as its highest note.
